A few days ago, my professor assigned me to write essay samples about home, travel, and tradition. The good thing is I only have to submit one per week. So, for this week, I decided to write about home and below is my first try. Read it and share your comments about it.
There is no place like home. Everyone feels comfortable and secure once they are at home.

At home, you can do all the things that you want- watch TV, listen to the radio, play your favorite games, cook delicious food, sleep the whole day, etc.

Everybody wants to have a house or home of his own. Some dream of a big house or a mansion. Some people just want an average style of house. But did you know that there are some people who are already contented with a small house (literally small)?

Following are the photos of the 10 smallest houses in the world. Look closely at the pictures and see it for real.

Toronto's Little House

Twelve Cubed Mini Home

Paul Elkin's Shelter

Tumbleweed House

Rollit Homes

Smallest House in Great Britain

Micro Compact Home

It does not actually really matter if your house is small or big; what matters most is the love in the family that can make a happy home.

Picture how a day in your life runs. You wake up. You go to to the office. You stroll on the streets. You see a lot of people. And everywhere you go, you are blasted by noise and loud sounds- the horns of cars, songs from the radio, ring of telephones, buzz of the door bell. Today, the city seems to be a loud place.

Who wants to hear noise and loud sounds everyday? None. But if you live in the city, you can’t really escape from this. But then, you have the freedom to get rid of noise and get away from the hustle of the city life. Why not, listen to the natural sounds?

The good news is there are quiet places on Earth where you can realize the essence of silence.
Loch Lomond- Scotland
If you are living in Scotland, you can visit Loch Lomond. The mountains and forests surrounding this beautiful and alluring  lake protect it from the loud sounds of the city. If you spend a day here, the only sounds that you are going to hear are the waves on the loch and the sounds of the cows.
The Gobi Desert- Mongolia
Should you want to go far far away from civilization, Gobi Desert is the perfect place. Only a few people visit this place such as nomads and paleontologists. You can only hear the sounds of birds but it is even occasionally. So, total silence can be felt here.
The Hoh Valley- Washington
Visit Washington and do not miss the Hoh Valley. It is recognized as the largest area in America without roads. It is perceived that having no human sound will cause the lack of sound to radiate over not just hundreds but thousands of acres.
The Muir Woods- California
Though it is just 12 miles away from San Francisco, it is still one of the most quiet places on Earth. In fact, “quiet days” were established here wherein sound is completely banned. Thus, you can relax in the woods in total silence.
Anza- Borrego State Park- California
If your professor instructed you to create an essay and you want a quiet place to write it, Anza Borrego is the ideal place for you. In this place, you can entirely focus on your writing as you aren’t likely to hear anything else.

Anza Borrego is a large quiet place in California, a four-hour drive from the city.

You need to be on peace and embrace silence once in awhile. Spend some of your time to visit any of these places and you will definitely understand how important silence is.
